Fans of the series Bridgerton on Netflix have not just fallen in love with the stories and characters but the Regencycore décor that is seen in many of the sets. With ultimate opulence and sophistication, you might think that this sort of style is a distant prospect for your own home.

Nothing could be further from the truth. There are plenty of ways to add that special Regency style to your home and it’s not as expensive as you might think and Adamms has the best price on carpets and flooring you will get more for less at our massive flooring warehouse just off Norham Road.

What is Regencycore?

Whether you want to create a luxurious dining room or a sumptuous boudoir to relax in, the core components of the Regency style are bold deep colours that contrast with lighter ones – especially powder greens and blues. In addition to this, you’re looking for decorative furniture items that feature carved woodwork and a certain regal elegance. Just adding a few of these components to any room can help transform it.

In addition, if you want to go the whole hog with your Regencycore design, you might want to incorporate flowing, velvety drapes, a chandelier or two and a carpet that matches the décor.

Is There a Regency Style Carpet?

If you’re starting with an empty room, the first thing you need to consider is the flooring and the colouring of the walls. When it comes to carpet, you’re looking for something sumptuous and functional which adds dimension to the room.

Persian and Turkish rugs were very popular during this period, and you might want to consider having a fairly plain underlay for the main carpet topped off by a large, more ostentatious rug.

Regency Style Walls

Whether you intend to paint the walls or put up wallpaper is going to define the style of your room. The easier option is paint and a mix of darker, slightly bolder shades for the main walls and lighter, chalky ones for borders which combined can help create an elegant and grand style.

Damask wallpapers are a great option if you are going down that route and the more opulent the better. Be careful here, however, as the wrong choice can overpower the room – try to avoid overly dark or ornate designs that catch the eye too much.

Regency Accessories

Much of the design of your Regencycore design is going to be defined by the furniture and fixtures and fittings. The good news is that these can be picked up second-hand and on the internet for a reasonable price if you are going all in on the Regency décor.

Drapes can be a fantastic way to make a statement and with Regency, you’re looking for something heavy and flowing. Not only will this keep your home warm in the winter, but it also looks fantastic. Velvet style drapes in rich colours certainly make your home look more magnificent as well as highly functional.

Mirrors and pictures on the wall need to have ornate frames and, again, there are options here if you want to buy second-hand online. Regency furniture can often seem a little uncomfortable but there is also plenty of choice here, depending on the room you are styling. Finally, nothing says Regency period as much as a crystal chandelier, the bigger and more grandiose the better.
